hey i need some help please.
im trying to start working on my 2000 imapal, so i went to CC (circuit city) and asked them jus how much it would be to install subs amp n stuff. they told me itll cost me $100 to purchase a what they call 'GM interfernce' because of the factory "amp" and all that stuff.
then i heard from some people that i should jus by-pass the amp and install the new amp and subs without changing the head unit and itll still sound good.

im tryin to install
Sony Xplod 52wx4 head unit
2 ch. Kenwood 1000W AMP
2-12" H2 Orion Subs 800W ea.

(all bought seperatly for cheap, not doin big for now)

you do not need the Gm interface. All it does is keep the door chimes. Go get a metra harness, i think pepboys has em. Then you just install everything as usual. If you dont know how to do it, you can take it to CC, just make sure you tell them not to use the $100 adapter, and if they tell you you still need it, call them a liar and ask to speak to the manager.

sorry its been so long, but
the harness is like $10 or so
i normally stay away form sony, ut their HUs arent too bad
orion subs are awesome but you're gonna need a bigger or second amp to get the most out of them
and make sure u use at least 4awg if not 1/0 awg for ur power wire
