First Post here, First possible Chevy.

I came across an '03 1500HD CrewCab (6.0L) with 105,500 miles on it for (asking) $12,888. I wasn't really looking for a 1500HD with the 6.0L but the price does intreage me.

Here's my couple questions to all the Chevy truck guys:
1) Is 105K to many miles for a used truck? (I've previously only owned Honda's and Toyota's.. 100K on those doesn't seem as bad)
2) How many more miles can I expect to get before major transmission/engine repairs are needed?
3) Are there any major maintenance items associated with this many miles? (ie, Honda's have 105K timing belts that need to be changed)
4) What kind of MPG is everyone getting real world (City and Highway/road trips)?
5) Does the price seem far? (I know to check KBB and NADA, they both say retail should be closer to $14-$15K)
6) Is it possible to fit 3 car seats in the back of the CrewCab? Two would be front facing and the third (not here yet) would be rear facing.

Thanks for the Help.

I've got the same truck, same model and year, and love it.
It has all the goodies from the 2500s but with 3.73 gears instead of the 4.10s.

1. if you know that regular maintenance has been done its good to go for 200- 250k, maybe more

2. keep the fluids changed and dont abuse it and you wont have any

3. plugs, wires, ALL fluids( this means transfer case too) and a steering/suspention inspection

4. 12.9 anything I do any were I go, city, highway, towing/hauling its allways the same(that what you pay to have 300hp)

5. Its alot cheaper than I got mine for, if it drove nice and is in good shape then yes its fair.

6.yes, and have room for diaper bags on the floor (wow 3 kids still in car seats, thats a big diaper bag)

if you do the fliuids your self make sure you get the right transfer case fluid, last time I check it was a dealer only product( $6 per quart)

If you need want any more info just ask

Bill
