Just an up date on our buy-back and replacement 07’ Tahoe. GM has been in contact with us and they gave us a build date of the 16TH of October. They have replaced the motor in Tahoe #1 and we have been driving it for the past week or so until #2 is delivered.

Phoenixcorvette, sorry to hear about the paint problem with your new Tahoe because Gold Mist is the color we have. On Tahoe #1 we had our problems but the paint job was excellent. We chose the same Gold Mist Paint for Tahoe #2 and now you have given us something to worry about. Oh yeah, great picture of your Vette on your bio. Victory Red is the only way to go on a Vette.

Dave, maybe you can answer this one. We want a set of the Chevrolet Premium All-Weather Floor Mats and a Cargo Tray but GM only offers them in the Ebony color. What’s up with that? Chevy offers 3 colors of interiors and ours is Cashmere. Why don’t they make the mats and cargo trays available in all three colors? I called Chevy’s 800 number and they transferred me around to 4 different people and I still didn’t get an answer. By the way these people sounded like they were from India and they were trying real hard to hide their accents. Will Chevy offer other colors later in the year?

We can’t wait till Tahoe #2 comes in so we can post pictures and hopefully a good review.

Waiting in Cowtown

Thanks for the info on Weathertech. I checked out their web-site and they offer quality stuff. I might have to go that way if GM doesn't offer the color I need. I would prefer to keep it all Chevy if possible. I guess you could say it's one of those Chevy Guy things. I ended up e-mailing GM yesterday to get an answer on this, hopefully I will hear something today. Thanks again for the info.

I do have a question for everybody that has a sunroof on their 07' Tahoe. Are you still happy with yours and have you had any problems with it? We ordered Tahoe #2 with a sunroof but we have never had a vehicle with one before. Are they worth the money?

GMAN,

What was wrong with tahoe #1 that they lemoned it?

As for the sunroof, i always get them just because it is a fancy option you MUST have if you are going to have a fancy vehicle. However, I hardly use the thing and always wonder why I have to have it. The sunroof in the 07 tahoes are nice and I have had no issues to speak of.

Tahoe #1 had several problems; exit lighting wouldn't work, right front window making a scratching noise when rolled up or down, poor A/C and the main thing a knocking or tapping noise in the motor. GM had the motor pulled and sent back to the factory to figure it out. All of these things plus our dissatisfaction led to GM's buy-back. Check out previous post.

GM Accessories has offered the cargo tray for years for its SUV’s, the volume of sales for this item has been relatively brisk, the tray is designed to be a utilitarian piece of equipment to prevent damage to the cargo area, it isn’t really meant to be a high fashion accessory, the powers to be at the accessory division don’t (didn't) really think that there would be an economically viable market to have the part manufactured and stocked in a multiple array of colors.

Now with that said; GM Accessories is currently undergoing a large expansion so that GM can tap into the $10Billion per year U.S. accessory market, over the next few months you will see dozens of new products added to the catalog with a vast majority of them being aimed at the new GMT900 platform vehicles, maybe even some new items that you may like.
