Has anyone else had a problem with the factory radio not playing the rear speakers? Or am I just not operating it right. (02 TB 4x4) I have a factory cd w/6 disc changer. the rear speakers are not working at all. I checked the speakers and wires from the radio to the door. All is good. But neither of the rears are working. I can fade the radio to rear, and nothing. Is this a common problem or are the rear speakers blown? Theyre in good physical shape.

Could be either a problem with the rear Seat Audio Controller (RSA), this system is designed to turn the rear door speakers off while passengers in the back seat use the headphone jacks, but when the car is restarted the RSA should default to off.

You may also have a problem with the rear portion of the factory amplifier.

This was helpful for me too, thanks you two.

Yes, my speakers are doing the very same thing. Anyway, I'm not only a new user here, but I'm also new at trying to work on my truck. I could use a little more advice about how to check where this problem is coming from. Specifically, how do I get the door panel off? Sorry to have such a question, but I really am new at this and this is the only car I've ever owned and don't want to break something.

Thanks very much!

You can get a door tool from your local parts store. I think you can get them off without having one, but you have a much better chance of breaking some of the clips that hold it on.
