Really frustrated, and almost stranded. I have an intermittent malfunction of the starting system on my 01 tahoe. The problem consists of either turning over without firing, or firing quickly and quitting. After numerous attempts it will eventually start. The problem does not occur every time, just when you least want it to. I've had it to dealer twice, but no codes, therefore no help. replaced fuel filter, and checked fuel pressure. Now thinking maybe it is ignition switch or cylinder. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike

Ignition switch is a definite possibility, also check the crank sensor.
