Hello all, as the title indicates I'm new to the american built car way of life. I have owned Nissan my whole life, and my best friend has owned nothing but Nissan. This deal came around and I couldn't say no to it. I am now a proud owner of a 1986 Chevy Classic Caprice. All I know is it has a 305 with a 4bbl. Thats my extent on something not import.

This car was origionally my now-fiance's mothers car. I have longed after this car for 5 years, and as of yesterday it is sitting in my parking spot. $150, to be paid over a course of 3 weeks at $50 a pop. And a quick list of problems:

Needs Alt
Needs Distributer(sp?)
Needs Coil
Time
Tune Carb

I'm sure I will be asking alot of questions, I like to know everything I can about what I'm driving... just never thought about researching it before I got it. Anyways, thats all I can think of. I hope to learn as much here as I can!

Welcome to the forum. You should probably get a Haynes Manual on Your car. All of the parts and the manusl is available at AutoZone, O'Reilly's or Advanced Auto Parts.
