I have a 99 silverado ex cab and i recently encountered a problem, i have no brake lights but the bulbs, fuses relays and brake switch seems to be working fine. has anyone had this prob and can give me an idea where to check?

I would suggest that you get a tester and see if you are getting "juice" to the socket. Make sure the bulbs are working and corrosion free. Corrosion is a common problem and sometimes scaping off the contacts helps. Look for brakes in the wiring. It you have "juice" at the fuse, and no "juice" at the bulb, you basically need to trace the wiring backwards until you find the problem. A complete service manual would be helpful and these can be ordered from GM. The gneral manual that comes with your vehicle tells you were you can get one. My bet is a corrosion problem somewhere in the vicinity of the taillights. While you have everything apart, put in a couple high amperage back-up lights...a huge improvement. Available from most auto stores or mail order from performanceproducts.com or JCWhitney.
