I've got an 88 s-10, and a problem. I got in it last week, turned the key...nada. No clicks, no cranks, nothing. Lights, horn, etc. work, so I don't think it's a battery issue.

Just got finished replacing the starter. The new starter worked in the parts shop (I had them hook it up to make sure). So, new starter, got in, turned the key...nada.

After a few choice words, I pushed it back in the driveway, put up my tools, and found this forum.

Can someone PLEASE suggest where I should look for a problem now?

Make sure your battery, and starter wires are connected tightly, and that they are all connected. If that dosen't do anything find the starter relay and check that. If it is not that it may be your ignition switch.

The relay is the solinoid, right? That's new, too (it was attached to the starter).

If the relay's not the same as the solinoid, please let me know.

If it is, then I reckon the switch is the problem...

The relay is not the same and should be somewhere on the firewall or the fender. I think it should be on the drivers side. When I say ignition switch I don't mean where the key goes in. I should have said starter switch. In the steering colum the key pushes a rod down when you turn it. At start the rod hits the starter switch. It will be somewhere toward the mid to bottom section of the steering colum.
