Hello All, New to the forum and am having an issue. I have an 05'' Impala with the 3.4. I have had three instances of no start in the last two weeks. The first time the batter was hot, but when turned the key would not start the car. After tring to jump the car off, I jumped across the starter soliniod posts and the car started. later that day the car functioned properly. It continued to work for three more days but then I had a no start issue that at first looked very simular but turned out that the car may have a safty device on the fuel tank so as not to attempt to start below a certin fuel level. Now a week later, I went to start the car with no turning of the motor whatsoever. I agin tried to jump the car off then at5empted the starter post jump as before. This time the starter turned but did not engage the flywheel to turn the motor. I left it thinking it might be a solinoid problem with the bendix but i returned two hours later and the car started normally. Very odd problem from my perspective. The starter is obvoiusly not bad, the key may have an intermitant short but then why didnt the starter kick out when i jumped it? i may be looking at an intermitant problem with the solinoid and bendix but why wouldn''t the key try to turn the starter? Could this be a combination of intermitant problems? or am I running in to some sort of safty device? I have had the key switch replaced about 15k mile ago that was causeing a problem with the passlock security.Could this be the culprit? Any information would be helpfull.
