Hey guys...new guy here, I have an ''04 tahoe with the 5.3, Ok heres my question, I had duel exhaust put on(complete duel all the way back with two flowmasters) I have heard that running two pipes into one muffler then two pipes out would give better performance(MPG throttle, response, power?)is this true if so whats the best muffler for sound? It has this flutter sound when you run beside a guard rail or the like that I guess is from having only four cylinders on one side of the exhaust. Any tips, facts, info, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thx...Schlepprock

Welcome to the Tahoe forum. Could be that a single muffler provides the needed back pressure for optimum engine effiency.

I think that is the same reason that its best to keep your catalyst in place, new converters are much more better at flow and it really doesnt help by removing it as it provides a certain amount of back pressure that the engine needs to perform. Remove your exhust system from your truck and it will run pretty crappy, I tried it with my 93 stepside with 5.7 it sounded really cool but ran like &#!^....
