Been gone a while, but... well, here I am again.... My factory tires (07 Hoe LT3) are a bit on the lousy side. In the snow, they don''t have very good traction. In the rain, they don''t have very good traction. I''m looking for some new tires.... with REALLY good traction, that don''t reduce my MPG, and that don''t make any additional noise. Any ideas????

My understanding is that: Harder Rubber = better MPG, longer tire life, less traction Softer Rubber = less MPG, shorter tire life, better traction Noise = aggressive tread probably not a lot of help but.... I like the looks of these but some others in the forum said they didnt have good luck with them http://www.toyo.com/docs/tires/tires.asp?lpid=35&name=Proxes%20S/T™&category=lgt-suv-truck

Awhile back ZX recommended Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor and the OEM Bridgestone Dueler. He said they were better than Michelin LTX/AT and BFG All-Terrain T/A KO.

I find the best thing to do is get on tireracks site & compare tires. The most expensive is not the best by a long shot & the same tire has different qualities in each size. So pick your size then find a tire that matches what you''re looking for. Such as treadware, noisy or quite, traction in water & snow, etc. Alan

I have 17,975 (dropped it off at the dealer today)..... The tires basically have barely a full snowy winter left on them. Kind of sad too a $43k vehicle that is ready for tires after less than 20K miles. It''s not like I don''t have them rotated and aligned every 3500 miles (lifetime alignment and rotation at Firestone shop). I''m also questioning the brakes - which is why it''s at the dealer today. There''s a bit of a vibration when they are applied. Also, the pedal isn''t as ''firm'' as it used to be and stopping distances are longer.

wow 18K on tires. You should ask dealer to call the tire co and see if you can get some help on a new set. I have factory 20''s and my tires have 65K on them and just now need replaced. Also, have the dealer check your rotors I warped 2 sets of fronts that the deal replaced at $0. Hope this helps.
