I was told that I need some sort of memory device to put into the lighter.  Without it the anti-theft device will disable the car.  Is this true?

yes it will keep that active the clock setting and not lock the radio if you have that feature ,they are pretty cheap insurance !!!!!!!!!

i forget what they were exactly called but i got mine at o''reiley auto part''s i will look on their web site to see if i can find it .

You will be fine without one....you''ll just have to reset the clock and your presets. The radio will not lock.
