Car has an issue going left, but not right. Seems to bind going left, like the power steering pump is not working. This happens to be worse the slower you go. It''s fine going right. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Is it losing fluid? Sounds like a bad rack and pinion to me. How many miles on the car?

If you have any power assist at all, the pump is probably fine. All it''s gonna do is provide pressure, no matter what side you''re turning to. If it was me, I''d try draining the fluid and run some Seafoam through it to clean the system out. Re-fill with fresh fluid and see if it works. Is the fluid in the pump resevoir dirty or have anything in it, like metal shavings? Seafoam is cheap, and worth a try (in my opinion) since you may be looking at a rack replacement.

Really? Doesn''t look too bad. A few bolts & the pump hoses. Is it really a pain?

Quick update: It was the rack. Got a new one for $80 & had someone put it in. He had it completed in about 4 hours, but would not say how easy it was.

Thanks for the help
