So I was recently told by a veterinarian that almost all dogs have gingivitis by age 3..and since my pit bull is 2.5  years old right now, I wanted to take some "preventative measures".  Has anyone given their dog Bright Bites treats?  They recommend you give them after the dog eats, and it takes the place of brushing your dog''s teeth.

aren''t you afraid your dog will choke on bones?  that''s one of the reasons I want to give him Bright Bites treats, because the star shape of the treat is supposed to make it easy for the dog to chew, and reduce the chances of the dog choking.

I try not to give them chicken, fish, or turkey bones. Steak, pork chop, and rib bones are ok because they don''t splinter. I have actually had to pry more sticks and crap out of my dogs'' mouths than bones...

my dog looooves chewing on sticks.  I keep having to take them away from him but he just chases after them when I throw them into the woods.  He''s gonna choke on those one day.

I came home a few minutes ago and there was about 20 crushed aluminum cans laying all around tha yard. Well...my dad left the back door of the shop open and the dog went in there and got into our box full of aluminum cans that we have been collecting up to recycle along with out metal scraps. lol  Apparently Pepsi cans make good chew toys too
