I bought a 77 scottsdale and I need a transmission to mkae it run. any one know where I can get one cheap?

try the wrecking yard. just make sure its the same tranny if you get one from a 4X4 you would have to change the tail stock to the one from a 2 wheel drive to make it the right size. and if you wanted now would be the time you could put and overdrive tranny in it and help on feul. hope this helps a bit.

I would agree the salvage yard will be the cheapest. If you had a TH350 or TH400 a 700R4 will get you better gas mileage. The 400 is the strongest, then 350, and both 3 speeds. The 700 is a 3 speed with overdrive. I would also agree if you have a 4x4 get one from another if 2x4 get a 2x4 tranny.
