I have a 2007 Silverado with the GU5 differential, JF7 option.
Can I replace it with a GU5, JF3 differential without it affecting the computer or ABS?

(It was wrecked with 1307 miles)

Follow up -I can''t ask Chevrolet because they want the VIN number and will probably void the warranty if they know I changed it.

I do know you need to be absolutely certain the front diff and rear diff are the same gear ratio. Also, the abs sensor responds at highway speeds, and will trigger a service instruction if you do a gear ratio change. Did GM use JF7 and JF3 interchangeably,or

was the JF7 an upgrade performance modification, or what? Primarily, you need to know the JF3 and your front diff are the same ratio, then work from there. A 4x4 specialist shops that deals with upgrades and changes would probably be able to tell you, if the

Two wheel drive.
JF7 - 6400# rear axle
JF3 - 7000# rear axle
