I just replaced on my 1990 Chevy Lumina the a/c condenser due to a leak , after a sys vaccum , do I need to add oil for 134-a ?and how much quantity before I filled with refrigerant.

I already know someone is going to disagree. With that said,,,,,You need PAG oil (parts store can get you right weight). Get 8oz can & add 4oz. Then fill w/134 at 85% of 12 amount. For example, if your car holds 2 lbs of r12 charge it w/1.7 of r134. Charge amount will be listed underhood.

I won''t disagree with that

I will say that the vehicle''s R12 capacity is 36oz which works out to be 2.25lbs which works out to be about 1.9lbs of R134a
