I''m in the market for a new truck, and even though my current truck is not old, 2006 chevy colorado, I''m finding that the full size trucks are getting close to the same gas mileage with many more capabilities (i.e. towing). I''m curious as to what others think on purchasing a 2008 model (more than likely a 2500hd with a 6 speed transmission), or waiting for the 1500 series hybrid to come out later this year. What kind of mileage are people getting with the 6 speed? The dealer also mentioned that the 2008 1500 trucks have the 6 speed as well, was this false information, or is it accurate? (i couldn''t find anything to verify this on gmc''s or chevrolet''s site). For now my use will be hauling toys around (dirt bike/4 wheeler). As well as a future purchase of a trailer (the reason I want to go to a full size). The truck would also replace my colorado as a daily driver. I''m used to the fuel costs of the colorado, which averages about 14.5 mpg and would like to keep it at the same or better. Also does anyone have an idea of what pricing will be on the hybrid silverado? I''d like to give a thanks in advance and any information or advice is greatly appreciated.
