General info for anyone considering this swap. Just installed a LQ9 6.0 liter with GM ASA cam and LS7 springs, locks and retainers into a 89 pickup. There was a fair amount of fabrication involved, but in the end it was well worth it. Used UMI software, and harness with MSD controller. Great power for pulling my trailer, driveability is great and it gets better milage than my old TBI 350. Cam sounds good and idles at 800 in drive with stock 700r and converter.
