Hey ya''ll.

I have a 1999 Tahoe LT 4-door 4x4 with a 3" body lift and it has 33/12.50 Tires.  In the past month or so it has a really loud high pitch sound coming from the front driver''s side wheel area and when I''m slowing down it goes into a low-pitch long sqeak.  The squeak only occurs when the wheel rotates past a certain point then it goes quiet, then it squeaks again.  There''s absolutely no wobble or ''shimmy'' in the steering wheel and I replaced my brake pads last week.

The fluids are all spot on and I replaced my idler arm, pittman arm, and the ball joints within the past month.

My mechanics have taken a look at it and they are completely perplexed as to what to do.  They suggested that the brake rotor may be warped and that I should go get it ''trued''.  Before I try that I though I should seek some advice from fellow owners to see if anyone else has found this problem and successfully fixed it.

Thanks in advance to any help ya''ll provide.

Welcome to the Tahoe forum.  A warped rotor will usually cause a pulsing in the brake pedal which is most noticeable right before you come to a complete stop.

i might look at the dust shield for the rotor ,it might have gotten bent during  or after the lift ,or the wheel possibly rubbing the caliper ?

Thanks for the info.

I forgot to mention that it has been lifted for a little over three years and has just recently started making this noise.  The tires and rims have been on the truck for a few years so I don''t know what''s goin on.

I''ll check what ya''ll advised.  If anyone has anything else please share. :)
