alright i just bought a 2001 silverado 1500 4.8l...what can i get to make it perform like a 5.3???

I would put:

Cold Air Intake (K&N)
Headers w/Hi Flow Cats
Superchip/Programmer

for starts

so where would be a good place to buy these and can i install them myself...i mean my last truck was a 93 sierra and it was extremely easy to work on but all these mods i dont need to mess with the cpu

you shouldn''t need to mess with that for any of these mods. I bought most of my stuff online.

K&N - just about anywhere
Headers - Edelbrock, Holley, Hooker (your preference) online
Superchip/Programmer - (again, your preference) anywhere, online
