Can anyone tell me if the DVD player from and ''05 or ''06 is compatible in an ''07.  I do not want to pay $1000 for a DVD player from the dealer and have found some really good deals on some but an not sure if they will fit seamlessly into my ''07.

Thanks.

The overhead DVD players changed models mid year in the 07''s. The 2nd generation will clip right into place no problem but the wiring for it will be a nightmare, and you have to cut a hole into the headliner. You can get a decent aftermarket one that fits right over the rails for $700-800. And that with an 11" screen

Thanks.
The hole is already in the headliner (I bought it used from the dealer) with the wiring cord cut-off but visible.  Looks like they had one in there originally but took it out when they resold the car.

Any suggestions?

Jeff

wtf?

how can a dealer sell a vehicle like that.??

As long as the dvd players look the same, they will be interchangeable. without having the old one to compare to, you can look at the mounting location in the roof and make sure there are 2 screw holes near the front. the 05\06\early 07 were screwed to the roof, and after late 07 they were just clipped in

06 is different from 07 and up, do you have rails in your truck?  I have a factory DVD system for a 08 which mounts to a rail system, looking for $400 and it''s new!

they didn''t change the models until mid\late 07, and regardless of year, they all use the rail system
