For those of you who are looking for a GOOD replacement battery for the sub-standard factory installed unti, I checked with a mechanic this morning, who has more ASE certifications than you can shake a stick at. He showed me his Hoe and under the hood, was an Optima yellow top. Optima part # 34/78-980. Battery was $159.98 at Advance Auto. He installed his the second week he had his Hoe and hasn''t had any rundown problems at all.

You can bet your money I''m heading there tomorrow morning. I had one in my 2000 Hoe and NEVER had a problem with it. Too bad I can''t say the same for this factory installed battery. It dies in about 25 minutes with the radio playing, and don''t even think about playing the DVD player without the engine running.

Don''t be surprised if the Optima does the same thing.  These NBS are energy pigs with the key on.

Here in Texas with every GM truck I have owned I have had to replace the battery about ~3years, the heat kills them so spending a fortune on anything fancy is pretty much a waste for me. $80-90 batteries have done fine for me thou I do go with name brands

Every car/truck that I''ve bought new (GM & Chrysler ) has had a 3 year battery and they all made the 3 year mark and not much more.
