I was thinking about buying a 1500 HD 6.0 and was wondering what MPG this pickup is getting?

If not I will probably buy a 2005+ 1500 5.3 and was wondering what MPH this truck is getting?

And if anybody responds do you have an aftermarket exhaust, air intake/filter, ect.....that helps improve the MPH on the above pickups?

Thanks!!!!!!!!!

what year 1500 6.0 and 5.3 for that matter, and is your driving mostly city, highway, or hauling.

I''ve got a NBS 07 1500 with the 5.3, i get 15.5-16.5 city/highway mixed (mainly city) This weekend I''ll be (hopefully) be taking advantage of an empty highway and reporting mileage of close to or over 20.  But with the NBS models you have the AFMS which will save highway mileage.

Used trucks are going to vary in mileage depending on how they were kept up on maintanence.  Search the forum for "mileage" you should get a thread where alot of people posted what they get.

By the way, my truck is stock, and I''''ve tried to get my mileage to go below 15mpg (to see how aggressively I could drive without killing mileage) and as of yet (15 months) I''''ve been unable to get below 15.4 mpg on a tank.

I''ve got a 2008 GMC crew cab with the 5.3,  that gives me about 13-15 miles to the gallon in the city and about 18 on the highway. When i pull my trailer i get really crappy gas mileage. I get better gas millage out of my 1994 silverado with the 5.7 that is bagged on 22''s, but that is only a weekend crusier!

My 2007 6.0L gets about 13.5 city & 18 hwy with 3:73 gears & GM cold air. Pulling either trailer it''s about 8! It sure is a hoot to put it in netural down hill & try to hit 99mph

my son has the 6.0 liter in a 2007, 2500 series with 4.10 ratio.  He gets about 11 mpg, but company pays so no big deal to him.

I have a 2000 obs, 2500 series, 350 engine with 3.73 ratio 81K miles and drive it very conservatively.

Truck runs/starts great, but got 12 mpg today,  wonder if a tuneup would help, however, a complete AC Delco parts only tuneup is about $250.

Might be better to save my $250 to buy $4-5 gas.
any experience on this,  would a tuneup help at 81K miles?

have a good day,
