Does anyone know which wire and connector the amp. turn on power is found?  I''''m looking to add an aftermarket amp to my GM Nav radio(model 15940102).  It didnt come with the BOSE option so the radio is really low.

There are some larger amps that have auto-sensing on the high level inputs(which is what I''''ll be using) but I''''d have to replace the factory spkrs.  I wanted to keep the factory speakers.

I''''m thinking its connector 2 on wire position 8.  Or possibly connector 3 on wire position 8 or 16.  If anyone knows let me know.  Thanks.

Also, does anyone know the ohms and wattage max on non-bose factory spkrs.?

Thanks. I may have to see if anyone has figured out the low speed serial data info....

The only problem was that they only had info for BOSE systems with AMPS.  The pink wire they referenced may be the one on the BOSE amp, but looking at a wiring diagram for my radio pink is connector 1 position #4 which is the voice recognition audio signal.

I did notice connector 1 position #6 - white wire says entertainment remote enable signal.  Wonder if thats the one????

I really need someone who may have installed FACTORY bose system on a nonBose vehicle.  Someone with wiring knowledge on the radio side.

I may just have to bite the bullet and multi-meter test a few of the pins out of the radio when key on and off. That site did say for some other GM rides that there is no accessory wire on the radio if so I wonder how the bose amp comes on.

My last resort is to get an autosense amplifier that will sense when sound is going thru the speaker wires and turn on.  The reason its so important to find the turn on from the radio is that when the key is off and drivers door hasn''t opened the radio will stay on (say the wife goes into the store to get something and I stay in to watch movie with engine off) until the drivers door opens.

The white wire will work fine
It applies 12 volts to the amp, and antenna module

I tapped into the white wire with a voltmeter and didnt get 12 volts when the radio was turned on.  Instead I got about 12 volts when it was off(key off) after 1 minute of cool down(NAV unit function) after doors are closed.

When the radio was on it was showing less than 1 volt.  I''m wondering do I need to setup with a relay and trip the relay on when there is no power?  In other words, have the relay send power to the amp when it loses the 12 volt signal.  This would seem that the relay would always be activated and off when the radio is on.

I also checked the position wire on the radio(#1 position on connector #1) and it wasn''t showing 12 volts it was more like 1 volt the majority of the time.  Maybe I wasn''t seeing it correctly?>!?  Anyone know if GM changed the setup on the wiring?  I was really expecting to see 12 constant volts to the radio.

Any experience with this setup or putting remote turn on wire to the factory radio would help greatly.  Thx.

Haven''t decided on spkrs yet. I got an orion c600.4 coming in. It is an auto turn on amp that will turn on with the high level input the radio has....reallly low level inputs. I plan on using the factory highs until I can decide on something.

I''m thinking MBs or Memphis.

For the subs, I may run with the larger orion amp. available.  I was thinking on going with some JLs or Kicker solobarics under the 2nd row seats.

I just sold my Kicker 15s cause I need the room in the back.  I nvr got a chance to put them in though....had them in my old car. So I need something that can kick solid and low.  That''s what I prefer.

I was able to wire into the white wire (Entertainment Remote Enalbe Signal) on the 6th position of the C1 connector(first one from the passengers side of the radio).  It turns off 1 min after the doors are closed or 1 min and key is removed. It will also stay on if key is removed and driver''s door is not opened.
