I have a 03 chevy Tahoe that I am planning on pulling a 21' toyhauler travel trailer. The question I have is should I install a transmission after market cooler to prevent possible damage?

Welcome to the Tahoe forum.
Kind of depends on the tow weight but it couldn't hurt anything to have one IMO. Might check w/ Chevy parts as I think it was an option but not sure. I know for the 07+ there's one available.

Yep...I agree....never hurts. They don't cost much and they're easy to install.

The gross wieght is approx 7000lbs loaded. Does chevy make a cooler specific for the Tahoe?

Here's the GM part number for the '07 Tahoe: #12497071

It'll run you $80-90.

You could probably get it off ebay
