I am getting ready to remove the 3rd row of seating and install a 15 inch sub. I am wondering what your thoughts are on a larger, flatter, thinner box versus a more square box. I have read elsewhere that pointing the sub up and the port towards the rear of the vehicle is the best way to do it, but if I go sealed do I just point it up? Anyways, I want to keep using the room in the back as much as possible, and it is a 15. Let me know what your thoughts are and what you have done...

Welcome to the Tahoe forum. There's several audiophiles here that can probably give you some tips.

Have you considered a custom box that can be placed inside the rear corner section (driver's side)? I'm not sure if you can get a 15" but the audio shop I went to told me I could get a 12" in there.

I've seen several posts on exactly that here and other forums. It'll only work if you don't have a power liftgate tho.

I personally think a 15" is too much and if you wanna keep your 3rd row seats in you can always build a sealed box so you dont need to build a big box. As to the sub firing its good to have it facing the rear hatch so it has something to bounce off of. I built a sealed box for my jl 10w6 and it hits real nice, if i turn the gain up it is rediculous...
