The 2008 Chevrolet Impala: “Even in ‘park’, it performs.” Being a carryover from 2007, this four-door model is bound to impress. It comes in four different models, with each of these models able to accommodate up to six people. The Impala models are LS, LT, LTZ, and SS.

The LS model has a 3.5-liter V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing under its hood. Its body panels include two-sided galvanized steel, except for the roof since it is not necessary. It comes with foglamps and headlamps, with the latter made of composite halogen. This model comes with 16-inch, bolt-on full wheel covers as wheel. Other standard features include tire pressure monitor, CD/MP3 player, XM radio, auxiliary audio input jack for the iPod or other MP3 players. The Impala LS has a base price of $22,400.

The LT model, on the other hand, is offered in 1LT and 2LT. The former is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing which is able to spew out 211 horsepower. This engine is compatible with gasoline or E85. Its 16-inch wheels are five-spoke aluminum. The 1LT comes standard with OnStar, dual-zone climate, controls, remote vhicle starter system, and XM Radio. The 2LT, on the other hand, is run by a 3.9-liter V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing. Just like the 1LT, it is compatible with gasoline or E85. The horsepower this 2LT is able to kick off is 233. It also comes equipped with Active Fuel Management, the new StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System, four-wheel disc brakes with ABS and Traction Control.

The LTZ model is pretty much the same as the others, except that this one houses a 3.9-liter V6 engine with Variable Valve Timing that is able to give off 233 horsepower. It also comes with Active Fuel Management and the all-new StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System. This model also comes standard with heated front bucket seats and 18-inch aluminum wheels (machine-faced).

The 2008 Impala SS runs powerfully with its 5.3-liter small block V8 engine. It is able to kick off 303 horsepower. The SS comes with 18-inch performance tires which are W-speed-rated (machine-aluminum). Don’t attempt to underestimate its transmission, as it is a heavy-duty four-speed automatic and is electronically controlled. Other standard features include OnStar, steering wheel encased in leather, Active Fuel Management, and the brand new StabiliTrak Electronic Stability Control System.

Based on the new Impala, this car has come a long way. From its simple and uncomplicated exterior to its neat yet functional interior, the 2008 Impala offers something good to the public without coming off as overwhelming.
