I have a 2005 Chevy Colorado and recently purchased a: Hayes Genesis K181790 Quick Connect Porportional Brake Controller. I did so because I recently bought a 2000 dutchman pop-up. My Colorado has a factory installed Tow Package and with the Quick Connect cable provided with the Brake control unit, I assumed it would be easy to hook up but well...I cannot find where to hook into. The instructions say there is a fuse box under the dash but...there isnt. Also, it says with a tow package, generally there is just a wire that is loose hanging under the steering wheel with a connector on it thats ready to go. What am I missing? The connector is a six slot plug I believe.

Please help...

just saw your post, how''d you make out? I don''t have the tow package so i''ll have to hard wire everything for my pop-up brakes. you might checkout a site for pop-ups, www.popupportal.com has been very helpful to me. i''ve been thinking that there isn''t a lot of traffic or responses on this site, maybe it''s just the colorado, but i don''t think so. there are to many of ''em on the road.

My wifes 05 colorado has the towing package but it only had a 4 pin connector for lights so no electric brakes. I installed a brake controller and had to hard wire it all. I talked with a hitch install place in town and they stated that all colorados have to be done this way there is no plug and play for that year. They did say that they had a harness for 07 and newer colorados   so maybe the instructions you have are for a newer colorado
