We have a 1990 Cavalier Z24. Daughter was driving home from school (maybe 3 miles) and the car died and wouldn't start back up. When I got to the car and got in, I could smell burnt or melted wire or plastic inside the car - not outside or under the hood. I checked all the fuses, loosened the panel under the dash and checked wires / connections, and found nothing wrong. The fuel pump works - I can hear it, but it doesn't seem to be getting any fuel - I can't smell any when trying to start it even if I hold the pedal down. What's next to check? Am I guessing right that the ignition switch would be the next likely culprit? How much of a hassle is that? Thanks for any input ....
