Hello. Bought a used 07 chevy silverado (not the classic) and trying to figure out if it does in fact have a xm radio tuner. It has working onstar and has the single cd stereo radio. Is there any easy way to figure this out? Onstar people dont know and the Chevy dealer salesman was clueless. Pushed the band button but just shows am/fm. Would appreciate any help with this. Thanks KP

To activate the factory XM, all you need to do is hit the band button, The radio will cycle through AM,FM,XM. If the truck is not equipped with XM, the XM band will not appear. It is possible to add factory XM to your truck though. Talk to a service advisor or the parts dept as the install is not all that difficult

If the vehicle is 07 classic then you can add gm xm reciever. If vehicle is 07 NBS, check if your radio has the FAV button on the radio face. If it does not, then it does not have the xm switcher built in and therefore does not have the Sat radio software to accept a digital radio reciever. The only option you would have would be aftermarket and audio thru fm reception or aux imput.
