Pulling the fuse will not disable them. You'll have to go the resistor route. Its the only way to fool the BCM into thinking its day.

I dunno Brent, when I pulled the fuse and put it in drive, the DRL's didnt come on anymore? I wasnt trying to disable the auto headlights, just the daytime running lights. Do I still have to do the resistor thing? Im not sure how to do it on my truck. Somebody had posted about it before several months ago and it seems like they had said it was just a fuse, but I couldnt find the post.

UGH, I knew this was going to be a pain.

So what about if you just leave the DRL's on. What will it do to the ballasts, people say you shouldnt but Ive never really heard why. I know running around with your headlights on all day and then at night too will decrease the life of the arc tube, but is that it, or does it hurt the ballast too. Any thoughts?

The guy who sold me the kits told me that it's not good to let the balast fire up then to let the power go-away to crank up the truck then go back to power them on right away, it shocks the cicuit. He told me if you turn the key on, let them fire up and reach full power, then turn your lights off, then start your truck/car up then turn the lights on. I drive alot at night and this gets to be a pain. Just wish to disable where I can control the lights my self.

Oh yeah, I didnt think about that. And I dont know about your truck, but on mine, everytime you unlock the doors, the headlights kick on for 20 secs then turn back off. I should probably disable that too. But I have no idea what that is called or what to look for in the fuse panel.

It looks like Im gonna have to do the resistor thing.

HID's on newer trucks=pain in the a**!

Not sure if yours is the same way but mine only turn the driving lights on at night when I unlock my doors.

You'll have to do the resistor thing to retain you AHLs but do away with the DRLs.

That's just it, I don't want any of the auto stuff. I want to leave all lights off untill I want or need them on.
