This car make terrible noise going over bumps, even small ones.A friend of mine had the same problem with his 1999,and was sick of it so he changed everything that in the rear suspension but the car still makes A LOT of noises. Since i don't what to spend my money for nothing,i was wandering if anyone eared about that issue and do i have to live with it like that.It is my first GM and i was glad to finally have a big car that has a smooth ride, but i am very disapointed. Everything seems tight under there, and the rubber bushings looks fine to me.Someone told me my sway-bar end-link where worned, but they are not like the ones on imported car,so im not sure if they need replacement. Any imput is appreciated!

hello, the noises only happen when i'm driving,if i rock the rear of the car there is no noise. The sound is mostly on the rear axle area,on small bumps, and the car is very smooth on normal pavement like highway.

you might have to get it up on a drive on hoist and look for any contact point's ,if this car ghas struts the internal bump stop may be screwed up ,check the spring seats and regular bump stops if it has standard shocks to see if they are crushed .asuming it is not a rotational noise .

You might start off with taking everything out of the trunk including the spare tire , jack , the cover , etc.. ... this will eliminate all the external things and doesn't cost anything. Next .... check the backs of the rear seats to make sure they aren't the cause. If you have eliminated all that then start looking underneath. Check the exhaust system to see if it's loose and rattling and if all the bushings for things like the sway bar and sway bar end links are fine it could even be the rear wheel bearings.
