I have an 88 chev 4.3L.  It had a replacement 4 speed put in.  Every gear on the tree is drive though.  I have no reverse or neutral.  Park engages, but the truck is still putting pressure on the motor.  When the tranny first went it was facing my deck and I had to use my 4x4 to pull it away from the deck, the strange thing is the tires wouldn't even roll backwards, they just drug... Any idea what's goin' on?

That maybe why it was being sold. Sounds kind of fishy to me.

I knew it was goin' when I bought it.  The guy said it was his first tranny he'd ever re-built.  First to second gear is a slow shift to, but it's always been like that since I got it... The motor runs strong, body's in excelent condition, and it's got a solid suspension... I'd just like to fix the tranny vs. completly replacing it.
