popping/creaking noise

i have a noise that seems to be coming from the passenger side of my 08 LTZ. Only noticeable at 5-25 mph. i thought it was aftermarket nerf bars but took them off and is still there. anyone have any hints as to what it might be?

If its popping and you have a hood protector/bug sheild that might be hitting the hood, I noticed my weathertech bug shield for my 07 is a lot flimsier than the one for my 04. If its creaking, thats another issue all together.
