Well have you actually checked for fuel pressure?

My 87 has done the exact same thing. I have been trying everything. I had just installed a brand new accel ignition system, I mean I replaced everything with all accel. Run great for about a week, went out one afternoon to run up to the store and that was it. I wrote the accel tech's about it and they said that the only thing that would stop the fuel and the ignition system at the same time would be the ECM (computer). I have been trying to get some second opinions.

I'm going to try some other things today I have been reading about. I'll let you know if something works.

I checked all my grounds today to make sure all was tight and checked the trouble codes and the computer showed no trouble codes. Replaced the fuel pump relay. No luck yet.

Got it!! Found a link in the forum to the burb section that led me to the ignition module. I took out the new accel Ignition module and had it tested and it was fried. Installed a new ac delco module and it fired up and run beautiful. So much for Accel. In the link it says that the module not only controls the fire to the plugs it also sends a signal to the computer to let it know when to inject the fuel. Good luck on yours Db.
