I've got a 2002 1500 ext cab 4x4 w/ aprox. 75,000 miles. After a good rain or during I hear a loud grinding noise while excelorating shortley after a stop. It only lasts a few sec. and doesn't happen every time. A friend of mine sugg. the wheel speed sensor which had a recall on it and was replaced about 1 year ago. This is a new problem for me if anyone has an answer please let me know. Thanks!

Welcome to the forum!!! I dont think it would be the wheel speed sensor, but I could be wrong. Someone here should be able help, just hang in there.

I have something similar happening to me in the conditions you describe except it only last maybe a second and it is more of a funny vibration or rattle that sounds like maybe transmission or transfer case noise. IT does it only right after take off from a stop. I would be interested to find out what it is too.
