mmk.

so today i went out to start my truck and nothing..

i jump it and its fine.. new alternator, new battery... i had the battery checked it's fine.. i figure the same for the alternator, besides it wouldnt drive around on a bad battery and a bad alternator after a quick jump start. it would suck the battery dry in just a little bit.. right?

i think it maybe be something to do with my computer? the other day it did the same thing.. got jump started and was all good, but my heater fans wouldnt work, the whole little display just showed some arrows pointing in different directions..

has anyone had this problem by chance?

is it going to be expensive.. i dont use my heater so it dont matter. i though pull the dash and disconect it??

i dont run any thermostat,
im thinking about getting the new little water restrictor plates, they go where your thermostat goes.. it just lets a set amount pass at any point.

any ideas?? hu ? hu?

Check battery terminals for tightness and cleanliness.

yea but i have a new battery, and it's all clean and good to go.

i have a new starter so im going to put it on, might as well since ive got one.

ignition switch?

is there an inersia switch on the 92?
i havent wrecked the thing tho

i dunno what else off the top of my head

The battery is new, but did they clean the terminals properly and tighten them up good enough? I have even seen brand new batteries defective when I install them. The terminals are accually broken inside the battery.

If the battery and terminals are good, you should be testing for a draw on the battery that is killing it. Here's some quick step by step instuctions I copied and pasted from another site:

1 Remove the negative side battery cable from the negative battery terminal.

2 Attach an ammeter(this measures amperage) between the negative cable and the negative battery post. wait a few seconds to several minutes for the car to go into sleep mode. i.e. when you make the contact with the test light the cars computer systems "wake up" after a bit of time they will go to "sleep".

3 If the ammeter is reading over .5 amps, something is using too much battery power.

4 Go to the fuse panel(s) and remove fuses, one at a time. Pull the main fuses (higher amp ratings)last.

5 Watch for the ammeter to drop to acceptable drain. The fuse that reduces the drain is the draw. Consult the owners' manual or service manual to find what circuits are on that fuse.

6 Check each device (circuit) on that fuse. Stop each lamp, heater, etc. to find the drain.

7 Repeat steps 1&2 to test your repair. The ammeter will tell you exact numbers

yea i do everything myself, so i know that everything is tight

thats a good thought.. thanks!

i have my cab lights turned off so they cant be draining anything, (as if the door was left open partial way)

other than that i am gonna have to dig around.. off the top of my head there isnt much i have to drain power when the ignition is off.... but im gonna do exactly what you posted..
