there's a governor on your truck which won't allow you to go past 90.

They are saving lives by preventing you from driving at dangerous speeds

I know there is a governor. What I am asking is does anybody know why it isn't 100 mph anymore? Why is it 90 mph?

15 over will still earn you a fairly pricey citation if you don't wipe out a minivan load of kids in the mean time (actually strike this last statement, I was just being unfair and over reactive).

Truth is that the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has their hand in it, the nice thing is that it no longer feels like you lost the transmission, now it just smoothly quits accelerating.

FYI: Many cars have electronic speed limiters based on the OEM tire speed ratings, not the case here though.

90? I'm almost positive I had mine (07 NBS) over 110 (I have a foggy memory, but I'd put money that I've gone atleast a hundo.)

Unless you are on a official track, you have no business going 100 mph in a pick up truck.  But then again, me and my fellow firefighters call those hi speed guys job security.

Seriously guys, a pick up is not designed for high speed emergency maneuvers (example - something runs out into your lane, you have a blow out, the list goes on)  You are playing with fire and will eventually get burned.

I have seen first hand the devastating effects these decisions can have.  If you have to go fast, go to an official track.
