jmilana -> Model question (4/23/2008 3:51:15 PM)

[sm=lame.gif] This is probably a dumb question, but I can't seem to find an answer anywhere.  [sm=headbang.gif]   How do I know what model my truck is?  C-something, K-something, 1500, 2500, 3500?  It's an '85 Silverado dually with a crew cab and a long bed, 454 engine and 4-speed (with granny gear) tranny, if that's significant.  It just says "Silverado" and "3+3" on the truck.  If anyone can answer this question for me, I'd appreciate it.  Thanks!

northey87 -> RE: Model question (4/23/2008 4:05:16 PM)

If I remember right, the C is for two wheel drive and K stands for four wheel drive.

old dog -> RE: Model question (4/23/2008 8:09:29 PM)

dulie means it is at least a c3500 1 ton if two wheel drive or k3500 if 4x4 .

ZX1100F1 -> RE: Model question (4/24/2008 9:01:40 AM)

In 1985 the Chevy trucks used 10 (1/2 ton), 20 (3/4 ton) and 30 (1-ton) series badging.

So a 1985 1-Ton Dually would be a C30 if 2WD or a K30 if 4X4.

The 1500, 2500 and 3500 designator was introduced in 1988.

cdusthockey -> RE: Model question (4/24/2008 11:55:09 PM)

what zx1100 said is right, but i wonder if the 3+3 is something that was put on????

hydengr -> RE: Model question (4/25/2008 3:49:25 AM)

I've seen the 3+3 logo's before, from the factory.  I "think" that they refer to the seating or number of passengers that you can carry.  The "crew" cab is the 4-door, so it's 3 up front and 3 in the back.  Not sure of this, just my WAG.

Also, back then, Silverado was a trim level, as opposed to a model ID.

gerkendave -> RE: Model question (4/30/2008 10:02:49 AM)

i agree with hydengr on the 3+3 badging... my dad has a 1987 crew cab 1 ton and it also says 3+3...

ZX1100F1 -> RE: Model question (4/30/2008 11:16:20 AM)

Righto, the 3+3 badging is on factory installed crew cabs signifying seating for 3 in the front and 3 in the rear.

cdusthockey -> RE: Model question (4/30/2008 3:46:05 PM)
