So i have a little problem with my suburban its a 2002 5.3L vortec v8 anyway from a dead stop it takes off like a beast and can spin the tires in 2wd pretty easy but once it shifts to second gear if i floor it the rpm goes up to about 3k And takes longer to get up to speed now there is nothing wrong with my truck but the 0-60 times isnt that great.

So im wondering What would i need to change my gearing to for this truck to really get up and go i i have seen other people with the same year as mine get from 0-60 very quickly.

2nd question i have the autotrac transfer case im not sure how the Auto mode works i know when the tires slip it sends power to the front but can it vary the amount sent to the front and rear with the clutch Like an all wheel drive mode pretty much?? Also how many rotations does the rear tires spin before it sends power up front??

Thanks

The 4.10 (GT5) gear ratio is considered to offer the best acceleration performance without introducing any adverse drivability issues.

The AutoTrac system works by comparing the front propeller-shaft speed to the rear, when it detects that the rear drive shaft is turning faster by even a very slight amount then torque is ramped up to the front wheels until the front propshaft speed matches that of the rear propshaft.
