Tahoe 07' - remove bose, keep NAV head unit - help

chud -> Tahoe 07' - remove bose, keep NAV head unit - help (4/20/2008 8:17:29 AM)

Tahoe 07, Z71 w/ stock GM Nav/DVD and factory bose.

I want to keep the stock HU (Nav-radio-DVD) and remove the bose-amp and bose speakers.

Also, I have found out that the HU does not need any equalization or correction, it is a perfect 20-20k flat signal

Planned project:
(remove bose amp, bose 6" sub in console, all bose speakers)

Speakers- New
- Front door - Infinity 6.1 Kappa Perfect
- Rear door - Infinity 6.5 Kappa component
- D' pillar - Infintiy 4" dual (this was fun)
- Kicker 6.5" shallow (built custom box for front console)
- Kicker 10" shallow, in back

Amps- New
- Alpine PDX4-150 - for all 4 doors
- Sony 4xm - d' pillar and 6.5 sub-center console (what to install where bose amp is, a perfect fit!)
- Sony 1xm - 10" sub in back

From the head unit I will be using the pac-oem 1416 to drive the new amps.

Here is the big problem, I am told that if the bose amp is removed that I will lose On-Star, Nav and chimes as these are not sent from HU to amp as a normal signal (and no one knows of a device to correct this).  The same experts have suggested the only fix is to keep the bose amp in place and wire to the front left channel; however, if I do this then I would have audio through this also.  I do not want audio thru the bose speaker.

Is there a configuration to fix this problem.

Any help, MUCH appreciated

Thanks in advance !!!

What about running a single speaker off of the Bose amp soley for chimes and signals.

Tahoe07

Thanks for your suggestion; however, would not the single bose speaker play music also.  If so, that would be bad.

Please let me know if I am incorrect.  If a single speaker would work (ie: no music out of the speaker), that would be no problem

Thanks Again.

I think I will as this question within the Tahoe forum also.

Regards and Thanks again
