Is there any special way to Launch a 2004 Silverado with an automatic transmission at the track?

Does one just mash on the gas or is there another way?

Pretty much what i have been doing is dropping it into 1, then just floor it. Just before it hits the rev limiter i put it in D and go from there.

I know it's a truck and not something to race with, blah, blah, blah... but it always fun to once in a while mess around.
