Hey all, this is my first post over here, I was wondering what you guys think this engine comp would put out? I know the heads are kinda big, but I plan on keeping my foot in it as much as possible. 454 .60 Over Compression should be about 8.5:1 Comp Cams XE274H Cam Lift is .552/.555 Duration is 274/286 Duration @ .50 is 230/236 LSA is 110 Heads are Pro-Comp Aluminum, 320cc intake runners, 2.250 Intake, 1.880 Exhaust, 115cc chambers, probably going to polish the ports, definately not hog anymore out however. Flownumbers are advertised as LIFT INT EX .100 75 63 .200 170 119 .300 240 165 .400 301 199 .500 325 230 .600 340 250 .700 362 270 Stainless Steel 1.7 Full Roller Rockers Long Tube headers 3" Exhaust, with straight through open warlock mufflers Edelbrock RPM Air Gap Intake, gonna polish the ports on this too. Edelbrock 800cfm Thunder Series Carb Anyone got any suggestions on how to get some more power out of this combo either? Any suggestions are very welcomed!

Why are you leaving compression so low? For future blower or for cheaper gas or what? For the size of the heads the cam seems like it's a little too small you know? You could probably stand to go with a slightly longer duration and lift, but I could be wrong. Seems like a hell of a set-up though, gonna be a good rat. I'm guessing you've got a good cooling system as well, to cool that overly bored big block?

I bought the car with the 454 already in it, got a good deal on it so I don't want to have any machine work or change the pistons, so no zero decking or domed pistons to raise compression, which is why I went with a shorter duration cam so I could build cylinder pressure. Cooling system consists of a 4 core radiator, electric fan, and high flow aluminum water pump. I hope that's enough to keep it cool on the street in west texas.
