my 94 3/4 4x4 , has the throttle body and the throttle is so hard to push that it actually makes it nerve racking, i use this vehicle alot in the mud pulling a small trailer, and if i have to stop for any reason, then i get stuck easily because you cannot easily accelarate, i have done about everything from pulling the cable off  to taking the pedal out and everything seems really free to operate, and then it seems not as bad for a day or so, but after it sits for a few days it is back to the same old thing, and i know it has to affect my fuel mileage because of the way it accelarates, there is nothing attached to the throttle at the carb except the linkage, it looks like there should be possibly a spring to help assist , but i am not certain about this ,thanks.......

If the throttle body and the pedal operate freely and easily, then the problem has to be in the cable.  It probably has some broken cable strands inside the housing that you cannot fix.  Get a new cable.
