I'm at my wits end here. A couple of days ago several light circuits on my 91 cavalier just quit working. Here's the list:

1. Marker lights on all sides are not working
2. Dashboard lights not working
3. Key and headlight warning not working when drivers door is opened
4. Radio display does not dim when light switch is turned on (radio and display works)
5. Glovebox light not working (probably unrelated, haven't checked bulb yet)

High/low headlights and dash indicator still work, brakelights including 3rd brake light all work, turn signals all work, 4-ways work.

I may be wrong but it sounds like a relay somewhere not energizing. The owner's manual and Haynes are useless helping me to track down the location of the relay. Just wondering if someone here knows where to look.

I'm the original owner of this little car, I've put 234k+ miles on it and want to keep her going.

sounds like 3 or 4 of those problems might be the cause of a bad switch. Use your haynes manual to determine which wire at the switch should have power when the parking lights are on. Pretty sure its a brown wire but I'm not 100%

Fixed !! thanks to all who looked at post and offered help. Turns out it was a wire on the fuse box that had corroded. cleaned it up, put it back in, presto lights work again. All except glovebox light, forgot to check that one. Oh well, at least I can drive at night again.
