I have a 98 p/u with a 4.3 V6 that won't start. I have fuel pressure and spark. The computer has no codes. I removed the top of the plenum to access the injectors (the infamous spider system). I will clean them tomorrow. I am just checking to see if anyone has some ideas. All comments are appreciated.

Welcome to the forum!!! Sounds like it could be electrical, which is always a pain.

Thanks Northey87.
Iv'e read on another post about two ground wires near the goose neck causing simular problems. I did notice one of those wires cut so I'll try that. Also I'll moniter the fuel pressure while it's running for the few seconds it runs on occation.

Plug in the block heater.

I had the same problem with the same truck.

I also replaced the coil (one hour) and now I am waiting for rain to see if that is where the problem was.( It would not start when there was moisture in the air)

Still working on it. Have fuel, fuel pressure, and spark. Checked timing, compression. Haynes says I should have 5 volts, (on AC gage), out of crank sensor. I have 12 volts going into sensor during cranking but have tried two other used sensors. Has anyone experienced this before?????

Whats it doing?  Is it even turning over?  If it's completely dead then its possibly a ground wire.  Need more info to help you out.  What about the history of repairs you've made with the truck?  What else has been replaced prior to this issue so that we can rule some things out.

The truck cranks over fine. It was running fine and when shut off would not re-start. The plugs, cap, rotor, wires, ignition module, crank sensor, Computer (original chip from old computer). No codes while scanning verified TPS, MAP, MAFS, IAC, are all working. I'm almost to the point of buying a Ford!

Probably the most ignorant thing i've heard all day.  Go ahead, buy the Ford, and pay more for parts and have more problems with it and it will be more difficult to work on.

How about the fuel pump relay?  Does it maintain correct fuel pressure the whole time until it shuts off?

When it shuts off, will it turn over to try and start up or is it just dead?

There's no rhym or reason. Currently there's no spark. Sometimes it will start and the last time it ran until I shut it off. If you try to throttle it when it's running it dies. Fuel pressure is at 60 PSI the whole time. The engine foules out. I'm at a loss on this one. Whwn it starts it idles without missing a beat.

Man that sucks, could it be a bad connection on the coil or something to that effect?  Idling perfect but cuts off when you give some gas is something i've never heard of..  How about any vaccum leaks..
