does anyone know how hard it is to replace crankshaft positioning sensor on a 02 sub. 2500 8.1L?? i've been having the usual engine killing problems while driving, stopped at stop light and just won't start at times. i called a dealership locally and they quoted me $200-250 to do this job? any help?

Here's instructions for the job.  Doesn't look too difficult.  Just take care not to break anything.  Have you checked all the other obvious possibilities... fuel pressure OK, fuel pump, fuel filter all OK?

ron, thanks for info. i made the change and i will see for sure if this solves the problem. i have read on other forums that this was a fix for the engine shut-off problems with the 3/4ton 8.1L engines. others have changed multiple fuel pumps and other things but, it never fixed problem. only CPS replacement seemed to solve problem .thanks, jon.
