1. It sounds like bad rotors, or a problem in the master cylinder causing the brakes to hang, or he just rides them 2. There is a huge difference between light duty and heavy duty brakes. For one the thickness of the rotors, a 1500(light duty) has thin rotors, the HD's have Huge rotors front and rear along with better calipers to put some claming force on those big rotors.

Actually I just looked up calipers and rotors for both a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 and a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500 4x4 HD and it pulled up the same part numbers.

ORIGINAL: kcb37 What kind of pads are they? I didn't look up pads. Just rotors and calipers. The factory pads are all AC Delcos

How can you fit a rotor with 6 lug holes onto a hub that has 8 lugs? *edit* unless you looked up a 03 1500HD Crew, that has the same brake pakage as the 2500HD's, the standard 1500 uses a different setup.

factory pads are ceramic type, last 100k +.....rear wear out around 60-80k....try this...pump the pedal several times,(engine off),crack a bleeder valve and see if it "spits" fluid...if it does,m/c seal is sticking and keeping pressure applied,(hope you dont have something other than brake fluid in there ?)...if it does'nt spit fluid out, possible booster issue....it it hydro-boosted or vacuum ?
