I have a 1995 s10,Im trying to install a pioneer deh-3600.But the bracket to mount the stero with is gone.There is just a large opening where the stero should be.Any ideas on which parts i should buy?

dash kit, wiring harness, and antenna adapter....should run around $50-60
|

K bought a wirning kit.And i bought a scosche '82-02GM Dash install kit.the problem is there is no place to screw the kit to.I need to know what parts to get.Im enclosing pics

Looks like you already have the wiring harness and antenna adapter. Also looks like you are missing the cage from around the cd player. You need this part to make the deck fit into the dash kit. check with a local radio shop to see if they have one laying around.
When you get the dash kits....take your dash apart and there should be screw holes underneath. By looking at the pics, it seems you need to go 1 more step before you can mount the cd player

So i need to ask them if they have any cd deck cages?

yea...ask for one off of a pioner deck. Maybe bring yours in so they might be able to match one up. Finding this part will be hit or miss though as manufacturers do not sell these separate. You will have to find a shop that has a few laying around. When i worked in a shop we usually had about 10 sitting around for such a case.

I have a 1997 S-10 so your setup is identical to mine. I bought my radio adapter kit at best buy--they didn't have any on the shelves--I just asked and a worker went to the back and found one. This kit includes everything you are going to need to hook up your radio--as far as plastics go and was way easier and less time consuming than rigging something up. I assume the "cage" refered to in the previous post is the metal box that can be installed prior to the radio in which the radio is slid down into it until clips lock it in place? This accessory is nice but not absolutely necessary to install a radio (radios installed this way are also easier to steal with the right keys). The kit should also have some small flat pieces of metal with plenty of holes to provide extra support (I mounted these strips from the middle of the front plate on the radio adapter to the middle of the radio--just so the radio doesn't sag in the hole). I'm not sure how familar you are with the dash, but just the front instrument cluster bezel has to be removed and it's very simple but hard to execute--if that makes any sense. There are two screws on the top of the gauge cluster "hole" that have to be removed--that's it. The rest of the front cover is held in place with spring clips. Just pull the front cover toward you and it will start to pop off--I usually work my way from the edges to the center--unplug the headlight switches and gingerly work the instrument cluster bezel out from under the dash. The first time I tried this I thought that the Haynes manual was crazy but eventually (with enough patience) I was able to remove the bezel without breaking it. Once you get the bezel off, its a lot easier to work with the radio. I'm not sure how helpful this post is to you, but if you need any pictures I can post some.

yea the cage is the metal box around the radio. You need this cage for proper fit into the dash kit. Dash kits are disigned to use these. If you don't the cd player will be loose unless you rig it up some other way. If worried about the deck being stolen drill a hole in the cage that lines up with one of the threaded hole in the deck and install a screw
